The Irish frame drum is a traditional Irish instrument that has many parallels throughout the world. Frame drums are traditionally found in many countries, ranging from China to Egypt, however Irish hand drums have a sound of their own. Also known as the Bodrhan drum the Irish frame drum is traditionally made of wood, has it’s own tangy sound that is mellow to the ears that embodies a history all to itself. There are many sounds that the Irish culture has brought around the world, and the melodic tones of the Irish drum are almost a lost relic in the mainstream Western world that would be better off having more of it.
